Caroga Lake was settled around 1783 from Towns of Bleecker, Johnston and Stratford. The early industry was lumber and tanning. The town of Caroga enjoys Canada Lake, Caroga Creek, Caroga Lake, East Caroga Lake, Pine Lake, Royal Mountain ski area, Stoner Lakes and has the hamlets of Wheelerville, North Brush, Glasgow Mills, Newkirk and Canada Lake hamlets.
