Chateaugay Business Directory

Below are local business in Chateaugay New York that our visitors and residence may find helpful*.   Please explore.

The Town's name was derived from a location in France and established even before Franklin County was ever formed.  In the beginning, it was the county!.  Then it was divided into other towns like:   Malone, St. Armand, Bellmont, Franklin and Burke.  Interesting notes are that this now small town was the homestead of Orville Gibson who founded the famous Gibson Guitar.  Also, McCadam Cheese Cooperative has made some of the best cheddar cheese in the world!  The Chateaugay River is a tributary of the great St. Lawrence River and flows to the Chateaugay Chasm at the western town line.
